Haven’t posted in a few weeks, been real busy with school and practicing UMVC3. After Charity Fights in Philly which there should be video of a few posts back I got into the lab as hard as I could because next up was NECXII! This being my first Major I wanted to go in there and at least show that I knew what I was doing. I went there with my same team of Nova / Hawkeye / Wesker.

When I first got there around 9:30-10:00am on Saturday (I literally live 3 minutes away driving) I just kinda took it all in. There weren’t many people there when I got there but they were setting up all the TVs and PS3s in the main room with SSF4 and UMVC3… Some of these people of course wee regular tournament attendees but I didn’t know them because I had no name/Face association. The very first person I played against in casuals on stream was OMGiTzAndre (Which came back to BITE my worst than it would have if I never played him. You get the picture.) I played a ton of games before others started to come and wanted to play. I lost to him Obviously, first time I played a person that performed magneto’s Loops on me … Reality hit me fast and I knew my defense better be on point in the tournament cause I felt my offense was lacking a bit.  :/

Almost forgot. The night before I finally met @MookyNinja at the arcade and @DesertPunkOscar … The plan was that we were entering UMVC3 pre-Nec Tournament but there was a typo and it ws only MVC2 and SSF4 not to mention that I was there for like 3-4 hours waiting only to go home. I did however play a few matches with someone there before I left.

Back to Saturday »» So while I was playing Casuals Oscar and Mook showed up along with Vada who I only knew as the Felicia player that was bodyin’ people in casuals before the tournament lol. Oscar drafted me for 3v3 Marvel Teams so I accepted and we signed up. #TeamAIRTAG

After that we were out but I am cool with not going 2 and out …. Unlike I did in Singles … My first match in singles I played a dude and only remember that Strider was his anchor. He beat me first round, then I beat him second round and it came down to me waiting slightly to long to xFactor after surviving xfactor lvl 3 OryRowBoats and both of us having basic one more hit til death. I am mad at myself for that cause I never got to XFactor in the third round. -___-

Between then and my second match I played casuals with 2 or 3 people … ONE OF WHICH WAS MY MOTHERFUCKIN SECOND MATCH IN LOSERS. I lost to him in casuals like 4 or 5 straight matches … the only matches we played and who does he use???? SKRULL!!! DAMN IT MAN WHY ME! I had NO prior Skrull experience (not that many have) and he, i am SURE, had prior knowledge of beating me in casuals. He must anve been ALL fuckin’ smiles inside lol… I know I would have been. It was SUPA-FREE. Big-Dumbass-Crossup-Overhead-Charge-up-Punch that Ground Bounces, sky diving Crossups, and Mini skydive crossups. WTF man! anyway….

NECXII was SICK and I plan on going to Winter Brawl next this time I will have a NEW Team! I have two teams one that I am pretty solid using now and the other I am training up with cause I think it will be better.

The first solid team I have is Taskmaster / Deadpool / Nova and the second Team is Iron Fist / Taskmaster / Nova. The first team is set up to be Rushdown when Task is on Point because he has an Overhead and a Low Assist at his disposal. When Deadpool comes in to let taskmaster heal the team switches to Solid Zoning and builds meter and allows Task to heal. Since they all have beam supers then DHC well and Deadpool and Task can OTG Super into the others super if you do the OTG super High enough off the ground to leave time for the last bullet or arrow to pick up the character into the other super. Too low to the ground and it won’t work.

My Iron Fist Team I am working on his combos in case I need them but I was using Iron Fist to tack on som damage to the begginning of a taskmaster combo by comboing into Dragon touch then Damage Chi Powerup and Hartag into Taskmaster to continue my LONG taskmaster combo into super then DHC back into Iron Fist. It does close to 1 Million Damage and it isn’t hard. i am just Working really hard to get Iron Fist into muscle memory like Taskmaster is.

I am getting So much better at the game and I can SEE marked improvement. Now all I need to do is get to more tournaments. I found out via Facebook that DMG Insaynne goes to the Break in Jersey every so often and offers a ride to whoever can put up money to go I will be doing that next time I see that he is going and I have the cash.
